Thank you for your interest in our Christian responsibility for God's creation.  We are excited that here at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church there is a group committed to raising awareness of our responsibilities for God's creation.  Here are a few things that have happened in the last year:

April, 2007        Organic, shade grown coffee from Equal Exchange becomes the fellowship coffee for congregational events.  For more information on similar products, visit the PC (USA) Coffee Project Site 

July, 2007        The Caring for Creation task force created

October, 2007  First ever energy and environmental audit of GPMC is conducted by ReTAF

Dec, 2007        Bulletin announcements appear, encouraging church members to "Green" the holidays 

Feb., 2007       Caring for Creation Task Force "adopted" by Christian Education, offers the environmental audit to the    Trustees, and begins preparation for Caring for Creation Sunday on April 13. 

March, 2007    Eco-friendly palms are in our Palm Sunday service for the first time. 

April, 2007     Caring for Creation Sunday and Environmental Expo, featuring liturgy, music and preaching that focuses on God's creation and exhibits from groups focused on caring for the environment.  The April Carillon features an article about the big Sunday event.
